Company History
Family & Children's Service of Greater Lynn, Inc. (F&CS) has been helping Lynn families thrive since for 130 years. Our mission is to strengthen the life skills of families, children, and individuals of all ages. This is accomplished through a range of preventive programs offered directly or in collaboration with other organizations in our community. Family & Children’s Service (F&CS) had its origin at the turn of the twentieth century, in the form of Lynn Associated Charities. This year, F&CS celebrates its 130th anniversary. The history of F&CS shows our progression from a number of small nursery and family service programs to an organization that works to support positive parenting and healthy child development, asset-building and violence prevention in youth; programs also include elder care management, and emergency financial assistance. Family & Children’s Service helps individuals and families achieve their fullest potential and develop their capacity to thrive and succeed in life. We envision a community of individuals and families connected to resources and to each other, in which all persons are given the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential:
• Each child’s development has been monitored and nurtured
• Every child has mastered the skills needed to begin school
• Parents are connected to important resources and to each other
• All youth benefit from positive life experiences and healthy self-esteem
